J&K Human Welfare Foundation
Human Welfare Foundation is a registered social not for profit organization from Jammu and Kashmir region. The organizations headquarter is located KP Road, Anantnag, J&K and is operating in districts like Kulgam, Shopian and Anantnag, where through the support of various government departments, national and international funding agencies, implementing various developmental programs/projects ranging from mobilizing community members and groups through fairs/melas, organizing health camps for providing free health services to poor, skill & capacity building workshops for rural youths, adolescent girls, & women, Introducing sustainable livelihood options for marginal farmers and wage laborers, Agriculture development through innovative farming techniques, marketing and credit access, Programs for enhancing quality of education and halting child labour, Women empowerment and institution building etc. The organization also carries out rehabilitory works for the victims of natural calamities like flood, fire and pandemics through support of various national and international funding agencies.
Since its inception the organization has strived for the overall development of the tribal and rural communities from the Anantnag district with activities ranging from formation and strengthening of the SHG movement for financial self reliance of the youths and women folks from the region to imparting vocational and skill trainings with a view of securing sustainable livelihood of the locals who have very scarce livelihood opportunities in view of the uncertainties prevailing in the region due to militancy. The organization through its consistent effort has been instrumental in mainstreaming a sizeable number of youths from the region by providing adequate livelihood opportunities through vocational and livelihood trainings.
Developmental activities initially started by the founder member and current Directors - have shaped what HWF is today; 17 years later, a family of 22 multi-disciplinary development professionals striving to achieve the common goal of uplifting the rural and tribal people from Jammu & Kashmir through utilization of local resources and creating sustainable assets. HWF is conceding its endeavors for improving socio-economic conditions of its target beneficiaries by undertaking natural resource management, agriculture development, horticulture, Skill building, environmental protection, & women empowerment. HWF believes in mainstreaming development approach and recognizes the role of state and non-state actors in the overall development of the rural and tribal communities. HWF have strong grassroots presence in its project villages. Standards are set involving community members in all aspects of project planning, problem identification, probable solutions as per needs. Food security, Livelihoods, Health, Empowerment of women and Children and the Disabled are HWFs primary concerns.

Our Objectives
- To provide platform for developing strategic plans, avenues for skill development and up gradation, building market and credit linkages for achieving decent and sustainable livelihood of the target communities
- To achieve social and economic vulnerability reduction by mobilizing families through self-help approach and capacity building.
- To help establish institutional linkages between people and government departments, autonomous institutions, financial institutions for enhancing access to information, schemes & services and investment in people’s rural transformation plans and proposals.
- To develop strategic partnerships, alliances and collaborations with international and national donors, funding agencies, NGOs, research, academic and training institutions for materializing the mission of the organization.
