From the Director’s desk
It gives me immense pleasure to present before you our accomplishments for the last year in the form of Annual Report for the financial year 2019 -20. Since its inception HWF has been striving for addressing the issue of livelihood and food security for the poor through skill trainings & introduction of various farming interventions. As part of the endeavor for securing livelihood of the rural masses
the organization has implemented programs on Organic farming, Formation and strengthening of Farmer Producer organizations, Skill training on various trades etc HWF has also contributed its share in the nation building and have positively responded of making India “Swacha Bharat”. In this endeavor the organization HWF has implemented awareness programs on Solid Waste management in its operational area from Anantnag district J&K
The organization has equally paid attention in other sectors like Education, Health, Skill training, Livelihood, Relief and Rehabilitation in the year bygone. Under the Education sector we continued with our all year round activities such as school enrollment campaign, orphan scholarships and remedial education through support classes for students lagging in their studies. Whilst under the skill education we had imparted trainings to youths and widows on various trades such as Garment making, driving, four wheeler mechanics, vegetable cultivation, fisheries, house wiring etc.
H.W.F. had always emphasized development of agriculture sector in the region. As part of its endeavor in this regard has formed and strengthened Sagam Mushqbudji Farmers Producer Company with NABARD support for the farmers from the region. HWF has also undertaken several capacity building trainings including SKAUST training and programs for the farmers for ensuring increased agri. Productivity and sustainable farm developmen
Under the health sector, we could manage to organize emergency health camps in 36 villages and providing health services to 2462 poor villagers from our operational area. Similarly through support from Muslim Charity we were able to provide winter care relief to 315 poor families comprising of pherans, shoes, blankets etc last year.
The year bygone was full of challenges, mainly due to abrogation of Article 370, which had suspended almost all economic activities in the region due to curfew, which resulted in loss of livelihood of poor families. We consider ourselves to be fortunate to be able to provide food grains and other essentials to poor families from Anantnag district.
As a social service organization, we are intent on providing quality services to our stakeholders to live with dignity. We have a long way to go. We look forward to embark upon important community issues pertaining to agrarian crises, livelihood, and skill trainings for under literate rural youths and pooling of resources from multinational companies for addressing health, educational and sanitation issues under the Corporate Social responsibility. We are assured that through collaborative approaches,we shall be able to sustain all efforts taken in that direction.
While thanking one and all, we acknowledge their contributions and express our gratitude, and look forward to take up new concerns. With effective interventions we shall be able to realize our vision and mission.
Thanking you,
