Empowering youths has become the key element in the development of an economy. Hence improving the status of youths by way of their economic empowerment is highly called for. Entrepreneurial activities transform the ideas and creativity of aspiring youths into business ventures with high potential and growth. This certainly helps in generating jobs and wealth creation, resulting into a state of well-being and increased opportunities in the country. . As part of its endeavor to provide livelihood security to the community members the organization has been imparting skill and vocational trainings to youths and women since its inception coupled with capacity building on entrepreneurship skills, so that the trainees acquire marketable skills and compete in the market.
The EDP training program was conducted from 14th February 2020 in 3 batches covering total 170 rural youths. Resource persons from District Industrial Corporation (DIC), MISME and successful private entrepreneurs imparted valuable inputs regarding entrepreneurship to trainees. Trainees were disseminated with information about various beneficial schemes of government. Aspects like working capital, raw material procurement, processing, value addition, marketing, firm’s good will, credit access, asset management etc were explained to trainees.
Through this EDP training total 170 trainee acquired entrepreneurship skills with knowledge on various government schemes. The trainees also acquired knowledge on aspects of entrepreneurship development such as production, services, processing, marketing, credit and asset management, value addition etc which will prove useful to them in successful starting and managing their small enterprises.
